童年研究的新范式——新童年社会学的理论特征、研究取向及其问题

摘要:

基于"发展"、"理性"、"自然主义"、"普遍性"等核心概念基础之上的传统童年研究,受到新童年社会学的强烈批判。作为童年研究的新范式,新童年社会学提出重新看待童年:把童年看做社会建构;童年是社会结构形式;童年是社会分析的基本单位;从儿童自身的角度来研究儿童;儿童是能动的创造性的社会行动者,以上构成新童年社会学的理论特征。作为一个理论综合体,新童年社会学呈现四种研究取向,即社会结构的儿童、少数群体的儿童、社会建构的儿童与部落儿童。其研究取向虽然有不同的侧重点,但是它们的相似性要比其显而易见的差异要重要得多。作为尚在形成中的新童年社会学,具有一个坚实的理论基础仍然有很多障碍需要克服,面临挑战的同时显现出新的生长点。

Abstract:

The traditional childhood studies,based on the key concepts of"development","rationality","naturalness","universality",is subjected to strong criticism from the new Sociology of Childhood. As the new Paradigm for the Studies of Childhood,the new Sociology of Childhood appeals for new thinking on childhood: childhood is understood as a social construction; childhood is a variable of social analysis; children are worthy of study in their own right; and children are active, creative social agents,which form the Theoretical characteristics of the new Sociology of Childhood. As a body of theories,the four explanatory approaches of the social structural child,the minority group child,the socially constructed child and the tribal child constitute the new Sociology of Childhood. Although there are different emphases in the four explanatory approaches,the differences turn out to be less important than the resemblances. As the emergence of the new sociology of childhood, there remain many obstacles which must be overcome before the sociology of childhood can be said to have a firm theoretical footing. There are challenges,as well as new growing points.
