The innovation and development of the curriculum theory with Chinese characteristics has gone through the experience and practice of the eighth basic education curriculum reform, which has achieved great accomplishments in many aspects such as curriculum ideas, viewpoints, propositions and methods. Over the past 20 years, the development of Chinese curriculum theory had been characterized by cultural consciousness and rooted in local practice, has been growing in the complementation of traditional and modernization and prospering in theoretical debate and worldwide interaction. It has contributed to the uniqueness of school curriculum, the diversification of teaching materials, the transformation of teaching methods, the promotion of teacher's professional development. It has also contributed Chinese curriculum wisdom to the world on the theory of holistic development-oriented curriculum and the scientifization and democratization of curriculum policy.
